Around 80% of the inhabitants live in rural areas and depend upon agriculture and livestock rearing as their primary source of income. Most rely on subsistence farming, and access to improved technologies is limited. In August-September 2022, heavy rains hit the country, followed by a tropical storm that caused widespread floods, particularly in northern border regions, where landslides, collapsed roads, and power outages occurred.
We provide immediate assistance to ethnic minority families whose livelihoods are seriously affected by flash floods in the border regions. Besides, we support the rural community development of the affected inhabitants through livelihood training, educational assistance, health promotion, improvement of the water system, etc.
