In Rwanda, more than 90% of the population believes in Christianity, and roughly 30% are Protestants. After the genocide against the Tutsi in 1994, the Rwandan government has been committed to maintaining social stability and growing its economy. The population of people in Rwanda who live under the global poverty line (USD 2.15 per person per day) has dropped from 75.2% in 2000 to 52% in recent years.

In the Western province, another CEDAR Fund Partner mobilises rural churches from different denominations to work together and practice Integral Mission by serving the most vulnerable people in the communities.
