Zimbabwe

Most of the population in Zimbabwe are farmers who rely on subsistence farming. They constantly face the threat of drought, the turbulent economic and political environment and the impact of the cost-of-living crisis. The World Bank estimated that half of the population in the country is in extreme poverty. Many people only have one or two meals a day.

In response, we partnered with local churches in rural Northeast areas to support small-scale farmers by introducing conservation farming methods, saving and financial management to develop their livelihood. In the southern part of the country, we advocate for gender equality to reduce sexual and gender-based violence, refer teenagers who need sexual reproductive health services to government clinics and provide legal support and referral services to women who suffered sexual and gender-based violence.
